Powerless

Kokujin sat in his usual spot on the play ground, drawing out battle strategies, "I need at least two medical ninjas." A very fat and tall boy walked over to Jin, in a pig like high pitched voice he spoke to Jin, "Hey you want to play some chakra ball oh wait I forgot you can't use chakra." The other kids had a laugh at Jin's expense, see in this world everyone has chakra, a life force which allows you to do unique thing such as create a ball of chakra to fight with, some could even control storms with their chakra. Now what made Jin stand out was he was born without any chakra points, which made it impossible to control chakra which meant he could never be a ninja. That was his dream though so he enrolled in ninja school.  He was decent at hand to hand combat, and a brilliant strategist, he is the only one to beat the instructor at a war simulation. Jin went on with his day not letting the other kids get to him; he had grown strong from all the insults and pranks done to him. After school he headed back to his house, where he always felt welcome and excepted.

As Kokujin walked into his home he noticed his mother sitting with a client doing measurements, "Jini how was your day in school." As she looked to him she noticed the tears in his eyes. Jin ran straight past her up the stairs to his room, as he hit the stairs his father came out of his lab. "What's wrong Jin?" His father chased him up the stairs but was not fast enough to stop the door from slamming and locking. "Jin whatever is wrong you know me and your mother are here to listen and help. Please talk to me son." Jin laid on his bed filled with anger, he hated the idea that he would never be a ninja do to his lack of chakra."Dad it's nothing I just am tired I am going to lie down for a while."

Hours went by, life went on, his mother and father had dinner and tried to wake him but at that moment he was dead to the world. Dusk turned to night and as Jin slept he had dreams of what life could be. He dreamt of him in the armor of a Jade Ninja, he was huddled in the tree line staring at an enemy camp. "Jin this is a one man mission, you need to get in and destroy the camp, if captured you know nothing and you are to commit heri keri." buzzed the radio in his ear. "Understood command Jin signing out." In a flash Jin moved to the side of a guard taking him out with a single blade slice, "no time to stop I have to keep moving." Jin went from guard to guard slicing their throats open. "You get to the ground!" Jin had been careless he had been too hasty. As he raised his head from the last now silent guard he realized how the situation had gone from simple get in get out to an inescapable battle. There were hundreds of enemy ninjas surrounding him. "How did you think you were going to kill us all by yourself?" Jin looked to the man speaking, "well I was going to kill all the guards and then get the rest of you while you slept, but this changes nothing you are still going to die, it's just going to be a little less quiet.
Jin reached up and pulled away his mask, there was hush over all the soldiers, "You are Kokujin the feared, which does not matter though we are all well trained ninja and we vastly out number you." Jin began to laugh uncontrollably, "Even if there were double the soldiers here I would still only need one hand to kill you HAHA."  The soldiers all at once attacked Jin, he raised one hand as he did all the soldiers stopped, you could feel the fear in the air as Jin screamed never ending storm. Fog began to cover the battle field so thick that you couldn't even see the soldier next to you, you could hear the wind blowing above but the fog did not move, all the sudden a explosion of thunder field your ears to the point of causing pain it was so loud.  Then a bolt of hot lightening crashes down tearing through the fog, the soldiers screamed in pain, some used defense techniques to protect them but for those few who lived they received the worst, cold moves through the battle causing the soldiers to slowly give in and die to the slow and painful hypothermia and frost bite.

The fog quickly dissipated and there standing alone was Kokujin, "I told you one hand." There was another crash but this one was real waking Jin back to his world of being powerless. Jin looked to his clock it was about eleven at night; Jin began to doze off once again when he heard another crash. He stood up and looked out into the street. His heart began to fill with joy as he watched battle tanks and transports roll down his street, all being surrounded by Jade soldiers.

                           The Gift


Jin jumped out of bed and sprinted down the stairs as he got to his father lab he could hear his parents talking. "Siv we can't give that to him, it's dangerous." Siv looked to his wife "It's the only way he can be a ninja, the seals are strong there is no danger. Plus I am not talking about giving it to him now, when he is done with school." Jin looked in and saw his father holding a silver watch, but in the middle were swirling glowing blue clouds. There were many seal symbols around the face of the watch. Jin stepped forward trying to get a better look as he did the door shifted and he fell through at the back of his mother's feet. "Hi mom, hi dad, whacha doin?" Jin's father couldn't help but break into a laughing storm. "Jin what did I tell you about ease dropping?" His mother had a look on her face which caused his father to stop laughing and Jin to run.

After a stern lecture from his mother, Jin went back to bed, due to all the lecturing he missed out on watching the soldiers come into town. There was always tomorrow, Jin thought about what he was going to do in the morning, meeting the soldiers and playing with their equipment.  Off he went back to sleep dreaming of the next day. He was awaken by the breaking of a vase, he hoped to his feet and ran down the stairs, there in his house were four Jade soldiers. His eyes lit up with joy he wouldn't have to wait till morning. "Now don't be stingy we are here to protect you the least you could do is show us some appreciation." Said one soldier reaching out to grab at Jin's mothers dress, Siv leapt and grabbed the soldier's hand "You can have anything you want but not her." One of the other soldiers then punched Siv sending him sprawling onto the floor. "We will take what we want and there is nothing you can." Siv looked up at his son, "please not in front of my son." The soldier who hit his father walked over to Jin "come on boy come with me" The soldier led Jin to his father's lab and shut the door, Jin could hear his mother scream and  rip, then his father scream and scuffle. The next he knew he heard a gunshot and his father crashed through the door. Jin looked at his father bleeding on the ground and out to the soldiers one holding his mother with her dress torn open and two fondling her and the last one standing with a gun smoking pointing into the room.

Jin was filled with hate and anger, "Son go get help" with that Jin's father faded away. Jin's hands were soaked with his father's blood, he looked around the room for a weapon all he found was the watch, and he grabbed it, put it on and walked toward the soldiers. He felt stronger, a new feeling of power rushed over him, "Boy go back to your father we will be done soon…." The soldier's voice stopped, one of the fondlers turned to see his commanding office with a gaping hole through his chest, through the hole he could see bright blue flames and a small boy with tears in his eyes.  The commander fell to the floor blood soaking into the wood; all the soldiers were in shock to see this. They all pulled their guns and opened fire, Jin raised only one hand and the bullets started bouncing around the room. The giant blue shield which had formed to protect Jin began to wobble and swirl, to massive tentacles of chakra shot out of the shield and ripped into two of the soldiers but these did not cut through rather than reach within, the third soldier watched as his two comrades withered to old men and then dust and the flames around the boy grew larger. The soldier opened fire as the bullets hit the shield all were deflect but one, it passed through and hit the watch causing a large blue flash, Jin screamed and looked away in pain, with this the soldier ran out of the house. Jin looked for his mother, he found her on the ground, he may have protected himself but in doing so he had killed his mother. The bullets had ricocheted into his mother, he sat there crying over her, he was overwhelmed with so much emotion he did not notice the soldier walk in.

The burning tingle only lasted a moment and then the world went dark; Jin awoke in a lab with men standing over him examining his arm. "Well this is unique it seems like a perfect seal well except for the bullet." A nurse looked to Jin doctor he's awake, Jin felt a gentle poke and then all went black once more. The days grew long with testing and questioning, "Who was your father working for? This technology is forbidden." Jin defended his father and endured the test till finally the day came. In the middle of the town there was a huge stage, Jin was taken there, he saw the Jade warlord Ando standing on the stage before him. He was at a podium, surround by the entire village "Siv was an enemy scientist, working for one of our enemies. He used his son in his experiments, and when we sent soldiers to investigate they were attacked.  We lost three good men that day to this evil, we will be taking the boy he is a danger to us all. We are going to have the best scientist working to reverse this he should be returned soon." Jin looked around and noticed the scientist next to him talking "I can't wait to cut it open and take a look and I also can't wait to open the watch." Jin was filled with fear, "He's Lying it's all lies please you know me and my family help me they're going to kill me."

Ando looked to the boy "Don't be afraid we are going to help you I know you're scared but it will be fine." As Ando looked away from the boy a ball of flames hit the stage, a soldier grab Ando and pulled him off the stage, "Sir its rebels they heard you were going to be here, it's an assassination attempt." Soldiers filled the stage to cover Ando, an explosion hit next to Jin, as the soldiers moved out of the way Jin leapt off the stage and made a run to the alleys. Ando looked to the boy "Don't let him get away I want that weapon bought back, it would be nice if you brought the boy but not necessary." Soldiers ran after Jin, he ducked down alleys and ran through empty buildings but he could not shake them, he had taken a wrong turn and ended up in a dead end. "Ha boy we caught you, now we are going to show you what we think of you and we are going to make you pay for those other soldiers." The soldiers went to pull their knives, "Hey boys why don't you pick on someone your own age." The soldiers turned to see a large group of rebel fighters holding very large fully automatic rifles. "Get out of here boy." The soldiers did not dare move as the boy ran past him and down the street.  As he ran toward the forest he heard gun shots and explosion, he disappeared into the forest."Good Bye, I will always remember this."
